Tragedy Continues for the Floyd’s

Many of us remember the fateful day of May 25th, 2020, when George Floyd’s life was taken by Derek Chauvin. This triggered many protests, and even some riots. Now, over a year later, Chauvin has been sentenced to 22.5 years in prison, and protests have died down. Many assumed that for the Floyd family, the worst had passed. However, on January 1st, 2022, Floyd’s niece, Arianna Delane, was shot in her home, an apartment in Texas . The shooting took place early that morning, at 3:00 AM, while Arianna was sleeping. She is 4 years old and now suffering with broken ribs and a punctured lung. Her father reports that she repeated, “I been hit. I been hit.” Until Delane noticed the blood from the bullet, he did not realize what had happened. Arianna is now recovering and in stable condition. Her father is shocked by these recent events, “Why would my house get shot up? My daughter don’t know. I can’t explain that to her. As the father, you’re supposed to protect the kids,” he said. At this point, who the shooter is has not been released to the general public, but the family claims they know who is behind this crime.
